Subject: Awesome new run location - DC
Woke up early today and on a whim  decided to drive down to DC (l live about 20 miles away in the burbs) for my run.  Getting bored with the same ol routes I take around the my neighborhood.  Glad I did - parked at the tidal basin and took a nice an easy run and checked out the MLK, FDR, Jefferson, Korean war, Lincoln, Vietnam and WWII memorials as well as the Washington Monument.  Early morning is a great time to check them out, hardly anyone down there - even with the Rolling Thunder/bikers for Memorial day.  I am going to have to do that at least once a month.

Lived in DC three years (Dupont Circle).  Worked at USCG HQ in Southwest (next to Fort McNair).  Great running except July and August (heat).  Rock Creek Park is awesome.  Favorite lunchtime run was the Tidal Basin and The Mall (just about anywhere up to Capitol Hill).  Just don't try to run the Tidal Basin when the cherry blossoms are out - too many people!
