A reminder during the long sunny summer rides for all you out there-make sure you use sunscreen on all areas of your body. I went on a 2 hour ride yesterday and greased up my body but...forgot the back since I was wearing a jersey. My jersey does not go all the way down to my shorts when I lean on my aerobars, and thus my back baked in the hot South Carolina sun for 2 hours. Needless to say I have a very interesting looking, and very very red, sunburn on my back. It's going to hurt...oh man is it going to hurt...

I feel your pain, man. Er, wait... no I don't. But thanks for the reminder to think about where the "grease" goes.

Yes, DH and I went for a ride yesterday as well, and you can see just where he DIDN'T get the sunscreen.  It is an obvious line.  That said, he didn't think about putting it on his thighs, either, and they're lobster red.  Me, I just got a bit pink on my shoulders and NOTHING on my thighs.  Must be my fatness shadows my thighs well enough.

Round these parts, that's always been called the 'cycling smile.'
