Pre-race routine:

Got up early, ate a bagel and some small cliff bars. Drank a lot of water -- maybe too much. Relaxed by the beach.
Event warmup:

Stretching. Should do a warm up swim next time.

Felt very sluggish at the start. Took quite a while to get into a good rhythm. Was a little crowded at various points. Ended up with a good time, though, which surprised me.
What would you do differently?:

Warm up swim.

Decent transition. Included a 100yd run. Bike started with an uphill, but no problem getting on the pedals and going.

Start working on some time savers.

Good ride. Fast course. Didn't push myself too hard, and kept up a good cadence. Was surprised to come in as fast as I did, but felt very controlled.

Push the pace a little. Target an average speed.

Felt good, and a good time for me. Was so happy to feel strong and comfortable on the run. Plan was to walk only at aid stations. I stuck to tis until the last mile and a half.

Time to work on my speed. I can improve a lot here.
