Nationals is towards the end of the year, right? There's a USAT sanctioned event I'm racing the 16th of next month and there's a strong likelihood for me to podium. if I'm 1st I qualify for 2013 then?

As a guide for when it is, 2012's Nationals was just a week or two ago... so, you can guess that it'll be the same time next year.

As for qualifying, it's probably best to check USAT's site: http://www.usatriathlon.org/events/usat/2012/08/age-group-national-...

It starts two weeks before the present year's championship race last time I checked... it makes sense since technically it might be tough to expect someone to race for a National Championship that close...  outside of the fact the race may be sold out anyway.

I'm excited to see where it is going to be next year too... won my AG this weekend so I'm in.  Also, it's awesome how they now e-mail you letting you know when you qualify albeit it a few weeks after the event.

I raced in Burlington weekend before last and it was a really beautiful venue.  It was a great location and we got to go up to Montreal as well (just about 2 hours away).

I hope it's somewhere equally as beautiful and not somewhere like Oklahoma (no offense to anyone, but that's not exactly a vacation destination.)  And believe me I live in the south and thought, "Tuscaloosa, AL, really?!?!" when it was there a couple of years ago!

I'm looking forward to going back next year.

Has anyone actually recieved an email stating they qualified for 2013?  I won my age group about 2 weeks ago, and am anxiously awaiting my email.  I also qualified for 2012, but it was too late for me to make arrangements.  I got that email.

Haven't gotten my email yet. The race that I qualified at happened the day after olympic nationals. I'm also still waiting on rankings for that race and one from the beginning of the month.

How do you qualify?  Is it only age group winners?  Are there a set number per race like Kona?

There were rumors swirling around in Burlington after the race that next year will be San Diego.  Don't hold me to that, but just what I heard.

By the way, that Burlington venue was the most scenic and beautiful race course I have ever done.

Hey guys, they can't send you the email until they receive the race results from the race director.  I qualified four times for the 2012 race and I never received an email sooner than 3 weeks after the race... and I want to say it was usually several weeks.  It really depends on how quickly the results are sent.

Also, I'm guessing they are working more right now on fielding qualifers for worlds and subsequent roll downs, and they've been out of town for junior nationals and AG nationals.

In short, nationals isn't for a year plus all of the above and I'm guessing this time of the year it will take a little longer to get the email than usual.

Check to see if the race results are posted when you log in.  You may receive the email a week or two after that... or call/email them if you see the results posted but haven't received the email.

I do like the email.  I personally think the email is one of the reasons the races were so much bigger this year than any other year.

I heard that rumor and would be THRILLED if it was in San Diego!  And I agree about Burlington - Lake Champlain was simply beautiful.  Great venue.  Great town.
