Overall Rank = 405/485
Age Group = F40-44
Age Group Rank = 14/20
Pre-race routine:

Got up & loaded gear into truck, had toast with peanut butter, picked up coffee & breakfast sandwich on the way, but couldn't eat much of either, sipped on water with Nuun. Set up transition area.
Event warmup:

Went down to water and got wet.
Swim
  • 23m 1s
  • 750 meters
  • 03m 04s / 100 meters
Comments:

Really felt dizzy in the water. Not sure if this was from exertion, anxiety or something to do with my ears.
What would you do differently?:

Spend more time in the water. Just haven't been diligent with my swims lately.
Transition 1
  • 03m 5s
Comments:

Difficult to catch breath at first & get up to speed. Extra long run from swim up hill to transition as water so low this year. Suit stuck on R heel.
What would you do differently?:

Perhaps try the jump on bike thing, but I fear I will have to practice it a lot before I will be comfortable with trying it in a race.
Bike
  • 1h 11m 55s
  • 30 kms
  • 25.03 km/hr
Comments:

Felt like I picked up pace once I recovered from the swim.
What would you do differently?:

Spend more time on the bike.
Transition 2
  • 01m 33s
Comments:

Felt good about transition to run especially as I decided to try wearing my Vibram's for the run. Got toes in pretty quick.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe try the jumping off moving bike and riding on shoe thing. Again this will require lots of practice before comfortable trying it in a race.
Run
  • 42m 48s
  • 7 kms
  • 06m 07s  min/km
Comments:

Didn't run as well as I'd hoped.
What would you do differently?:

Fuel better.
Post race
Warm down:

Got goodies, gathered up stuff and drove home. Tried to eat, but again tummy is off so only managed a few bites of my Subway sandwich.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I feel like I just didn't have the fuel I needed. Didn't sleep well night before and came off nights day before race, didn't eat much food & felt dehydrated. Had taken Aleve as struggling with the kink in my neck for the past week. Also, I have spent less time swimming/biking/running as I have been working Crossfit into routine.

Event comments:

2:22:20.2, Bib # 460, 28 c, sunny, 47% humidity, 11mph E wind, Unfortunately the roads were rough & the water was quite low which effected the course, but still a good race.
