Pre-race routine:

Got up 4:30. Had coffee and cereal. Drove from Lakeway to Austin, parked in the Hooters parking lot. Free parking and easy walk. Went into transition pumped up bike tires had bananna. Met a few friends, walked around a bit then transition closed and we moved down to the swim area.
Event warmup:

I completed a short jog and limbered up for swim. Felt good.

I was doing ok until mile three then I tanked and had to walk for five minutes. I just ran out of gas. Need to train, and better nutrition.

More training and better nutrition

Drank water, coke, muscle mile till I almost puked.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not being prepared for the run.

Event comments:

High Five puts on a great race. This is a premier event. Worth the money.
I will do it again next year.

I felt good. Swam last 500 meters very strong. I past more than five swimmers after the last buoey.

Course: Race track shape course. Not to crowded. I had a great swim. They had to switch the course due to some vegetation issues. This lake is spring fed and the water is nice.
