Subject: Westside Duathalon

Anyone participating in this in Arvada 9/30? This will be my first multi-sport race. Woohoo!!

I probably won't be participating this year, but have the last two years.  It is a good race with some nice elevation change on the bike. 

One bit of advice, the first part of the run is down hill and the last part uphill, just plan accordingly so that you don't go out too fast.

I am signed up for the race.  I did the short course 2 years ago and it was a lot of fun.  I am looking forward to the standard course.

Thanks for the tip! I am on the short course. I'll admit, I am very new to all of this so just to finish this thing is my goal. I have been training on a mountain bike, just got a road bike this week ... so I'm a little worried about the hills on Hwy 93 but hey, that's why we put ourselves to the test. Good luck!!!

This race was alot of fun and great people!!!!!!! It showed me that I need to work the HILLS more though. It was my first so I'm glad to have just finished (short course). Climbing Hwy 93 on a mountain bike was a bear. Love the Racing Underground folks. I did get 2nd in the female mtn bike division so I have a new beer glass

Congratulations on the duathlon.  That hill wasn't much easier on a road bike.  Racing Underground puts on great events.  I have done their Stroke & Stride events in Boulder and also the Ralston Creek Half Marathon.  Maybe this year, I will do some of the winter duathlon events.
