Anyone in the Upstate registered for IMFL 2013? I am in.......which I think is a good thing!? If there are others in the Upstate or nearby, we should be in touch!

Congrats on the registration!  How was volunteering?

I was not able to register and get a spot.  No worries though, I'll help you out with those long rides if you need some company.

Volunteering was awesome.  I would go on vacation to an Ironman event just for the show.  It's very cool.  Worked for 13 hours but felt like half of that.  If you ever volunteer....sign up early and get a finish line catcher spot.  It is awesome.

And thanks.....get ready for some long rides!!

I agree with NeverEnough. I also volunteered at IMFL a few weeks ago. I was assigned to T2, as a bike catcher, and wish that I had my Garmin on, because I know I ran a 10k I was a finish line catcher from 6p until 9p too. I truely enjoyed talking with the athletes as they crossed the line. Some were first timers while others has completed 5, 10 or 20+ full events.

The main reason that I volunteered was early enter, because last year it sold out so quick. However, the experience of volunteering was awesome and I hope to volunteer at other IM events in the future. This will be my first full and I can't wait to hear " You are an Ironman"

Best wishes in your training and I'll see you in November.
