Subject: RE: First (offical) tri of the season and ever! I had my first sprint tri last December. I kept it very basic so I wouldn't confuse myself. I SBR in swim jammers and a swim shirt....compression type. So I had no clothing changes. Obviously for the bike you'll have your helmet and shades. I did have a spare tube, co2, and levers on the bike. With one bottle of water. Hopped of the bike, slipped on running shoes and there you go. I had no nutrition outside of water. Not necessary for a sprint. For your first tri I would keep transition as simple as possible. It surprised me how slightly confused I was going from swim to bike. Maybe the word is overwhelmed. If I had had a bunch of stuff sitting in transition, it would have been even worse. So whatever you choose, make sure you practice, practice, practice it first. |
