There's also the Edmonton Triathlon Club (http://www.edmontontriclub.com), although I've yet to join.  There's a great coached swim every Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday morning at 6:00 AM at the Terwillegar Rec Center.  Filled with triathletes (myself included).  Lots of fun, good workout, good people.  The swim is free with admission, so if you get a monthly pass or whatever it can really be worth your while.
