Subject: Planning B races! Help please!

Hi, i posted this in general forum but didnt get any answers sorry to repost but can anyone give me some feedback if i should do these "B" races as prep for my 70.3?

I am preping for Cozumel 70.3 Sept 22.

I have 2 races planned as part of my preparation, one is "C" Race, its a Semi Oly distance (1/30/7 k's) This race will be at the end of Base 2 week (its at the end of a recovery week), instead of a race there is a 10k planned.

B Race is an Oly Distance,  It will be on the first week of build period (also at the end of semi-recovery week

Is it ok to run these two races on these dates? or would i be better off following the trainning plan (Ill be using the BT Half Iron 20 week Plan).

Thank you as always for any feedback you could help me with.

Should be no problem. Getting in a couple good races in before your half is always a good idea. The end of a recovery week is a good fit too because you wont be going to a new level of volume the next week and already received most of the benefit from the recovery week.

Putting the races at the end of rest weeks is smart.  It allows you a faux taper.
