Just saw this and went ahead and registered.  Less than 10 mins from my house, sweet.

 

Tri for a GREAT cause this coming Saturday, May 11 –
register and come support:

 Dwayne Morein’s  brother in law and a friend of his are
holding a USAT triathlon May 11th, called the Soleman Tri. It is to help raise
funds for shoes for children in Columbia.

Cameron's Shoes Soleman Triathlon

640 meter open water swim, 19.3 Kilometer bike, 5 Kilometer trail run

7:00 am

Saturday, May 11, 2013

Race location is on River Road between L'Auberge and
St.Gabriel (near the tank farm).

Hwy 75

Sunshine, LA 70780

No race transfers or refunds.

Packet pickup will be at Fleet Feet of Baton Rouge on Friday May 10th. We
strongly encourage everyone to pick up their packets early. (6251 Perkins Rd
Baton Rouge, LA 70808 (225) 448-2878)

If you are coming in from out of town we will be having limited race day packet
pickup to accommodate you.

I'm still on the fence about doing this one. I really want to cause its being hosted by Dr. Rick Ahmad one of the surgeons at my job.  I ride in that area often. I'll have to see how my budget is.

Timing didn't workout for me this year. Hopefully it becomes an annual event and I can do next year.

My husband is doing it, I'll be there. I haven't ridden my bike in a year, so I'll probably just run while he's on the course.

Blast of a race, the trail (more like second swim) was a lot of fun.  Cop had me go the wrong route on the bike and added a little time but lessons learned and I am sure next year will have that fixed.

Overall, a good race.

I was riding out on RR saturday morning at the same time as the race, and saw everybody on the bike as I was going in the opposite direction. I was surprised anybody showed up after the gulley washer we had an hour before. There was nobody within 5 minutes of the leader, and I was surprised to see how slow almost everybody was riding--it was only 12 miles! Hammer, hammer, hammer
