Subject: It's all about the engine... Last night on the ride home I found the truth to what we're always saying. I was pulling along a nice flat section around 19/20 mph, not killing it but going nicely, I was passed by a couple of guys in line. Decided I'd hop on the back, tail them for a while then take a turn pulling as you do. We hit a climb that normally drops me to 16mph or so, these guys keep pulling and only drop from 25 to 21 on this climb. fair enough I can do this, so I stay attached to the back all the way, next climb same thing, I'm being pulled along way faster than I do the ride solo and don't see any chance to get in front and pull. As my exit from the trail approaches I pull up beside the guy that's been pulling me, thank him and pull off. I knocked 10 minutes off the commute time, thanks to the dude on the MOUNTAIN bike pulling me along :-) |
