I'm in the market for a new GPS. My old 305 is worn out and in need of replacing. I'm looking at the Magellan Switch or just updating to the newest version of the Garmin 305. Is anyone using the Magellan? What are your thoughts on it? Any input would be helpful.

naw- the magellen isn't really that competitive.

Cheapest:  310xt.  clunky, but waterproof, multisport- except it doesn't really do the swim.

Also cheap:  Timex Global Trainer-  if you can still find them?  it, like the 310 is very large and 'old'.

Best:  910xt  has its issues as well, but the most fully featured tri-sport watch.

Alternatives:

TomTom multisport.  it doesn't do ANT+, so you'll need bluetooth devices (HR monitor, power, cadence- whatever).  But, it's tiny slim and very simple.  not as fully featured but looks easy to use, with a big clear display.

Ambit 2/2S  (see my thoughts on it in the other recent post).  A very good alternative if for some reason you don't want the 910xt.

If you can wait a few months, polar just announced their V800.  Looks cool.
