Looking for some help with some inserts. As my run mileage is really high(80+ miles/week) and several days I run twice a day(am and pm) my WORK shoes need some cush on the inside. I am required to wear safety/work shoes which tend to be hard and am on concrete walking for 8 hours a day(warehouse.) FYI my run shoes are awesome, its my work shoes.

I have high, inflexible arches and during my work day they literally ache. I have tried Superfeet and Sole, but that type just pushes on my arches and makes them hurt.

Anyone have any suggestion of cushiony inserts that you like?

Thanks!

Have you considered custom orthotics? I had some made by a podiatrist that really hit the sweet spot for me!

Well, I don't want to sound like a commercial but I use Dr. Scholls products, in particular the "active" inserts. I have fairly high arches and they work well for me. They aren't super cushy in a foamy sense, but they do reduce the pounding. I know they have lots of other products too that might work.

Ive had customs, sole, super feet, etc and I notice a different insole makes sense in different situations. Per your request for a softer insole, I think you may like the lynco insoles. The only issue I have with lynco is that they seem to have a little transition issue between fore foot and mid, theres a tiny step in the pair I have and I notice it after a long day in the shoe, still they are significantly softer than the heat moldables or the superfeet. Even the softest superfeet insole seems to me to compare with a typical sole brand insole with the 3mm foam. The spenco are also very forgiving, but of course less supportive, and seem to take up a little more shoe volume..if you find something that works, Id love to hear a gear report, Im always searching for the right set up as well. I used to spend 8+ hours a day on the tarmac, and the wolverine durashock beat out every work boot Ive ever owned for comfort, and Im a big red wing fan...

If you are a fitness exerciser, you are unlikely to need extra electrolytes to replace those lost in sweat. If you exercise hard for more than four hours in the heat, replacment may be needed.

To avoid a myriad of injuries (joint pain to your knees, ankles, hips, shin splints, foot pain, bruises), it’s invaluable to find the right running shoes.
