Subject: RE: Road bike setup advice I did my first 2 Ironmans on my road bike so I'll let you know what I did to modify the bike. Adding clip-on aerobars was the obvious first step. Next, I brought it in to my local tri shop and had them work with me to re-fit the bike for more of a "tri geometry". This involved 2 major alterations. The first was swapping out my stock handlebar stem and replacing it with a shorter stem. Next, we rotated the clamp on the top of the seat post so that it points more forward than the stock road bike position. These 2 alterations effectively moved my torso forward and put me in more of a "tri" position than a "road" position. Hope this helps. |
