Run
Comments: I felt great for almost the entire run- at around mile 5 I started to lose my rhythm and started to think bad thoughts, but I took a gel with caffeine and that made all the difference. Started to pick up the pace at mile 9 and finished strong. My strategy was picking out marks to concentrate on passing and that worked really well to keep me moving. What would you do differently?: I wouldn't have changed a thing- I did much better than I expected. Post race
Warm down: I walked around for awhile, and stretched out a lot. I used some Badget Sore Muslce Rub on my calves and quads to try to work out the lactic acid. And then of course a reuben and fries at The Retreat! Event comments: I was surprised when I came down to the last stretch & saw the clock that I was sub-two hours. What a shock! I had only been hoping to beat 2:12. Last updated: 2006-08-28 12:00 AM

Just walked around, had some water, ate a couple clif bloks.
Nada, I figured the first couple miles would work just dandy as a warm up.
