Subject: Compete as Clydesdale or age group
At 51 years old and 230 lbs is it better to compete as a Master Clydesdale against competitors potentially 10 years younger or in my age group against competitors 50 lbs less?

LOL, personally since I'm never going to stand on a podium, I would compete against Clydes. I think 50-100 lbs would be too much to overcome. You would simply not be comparable. At least against other Clydes you would have a realistic metric to compare yourself to.

That’s a good point. I’m not so much looking to podium as to measure my efforts. I think I will go Clydesdale
