Texas just announced they are 100% open for business with no restrictions or mask mandates. Number of cases and number of deaths have fallen dramatically. Vaccines are being widely distributed.

The WH recently announced the milestone of 0.5M people had died. They did not mention 20M had it and recovered.

At what point do we ditch the masks and get on with life? I say that for the rest of the country as my life has not changed at all with the exception of occasionally having to put on a mask to go into a store. I don’t even do that any more.

Lots of other issues facing our country, at what point do we stop beating a dead horse?

It will continue until:

(1) There is no longer any political gain to be made from continuing the lockdowns.

(2) There is a wide-spread public rebellion/overthrow.

I think you are right and I also think we are already getting there.

What concerns me most are the schools that are still closed. There are many schools that are open and the sky did not fall. There are kids that have literally lost 1 year of education. They are going to have a much harder time competing for scholarships. Watch as ACT and SAT scores drop in the next few years.

After a few months of online kindergarten and another 3 months of online 1st grade, we decided to pull our daughter out and do home schooling. She's far better off for it, both mentally and academically.
