Re: Michael Crichtons book State of Fear.

If you're interested in the climate debate, READ IT. If you are looking plot development, a good story, and good prose, look to some of his other books.

The thing that I took away from the book was that there is a big counter argument that you never hear about. The Global Warming alarmists soundly shout down any dissenters, and that is alarming, whether you believe the counter argument or not. I studied Russian in college, both language and history/culture/politics/geography etc, and I found out that there is alot more to socialism and communism than I was taught in high school (shocker, I know). While I don't necessarily agree with socialism and communism as Lenin and Marx (and Stalin for that matter) used it, there are some great ideas and if applied to Western thought and culture, could be beneficial.

I think we need to hear both sides of this argument. Crichton's most interesting bit of information is that we only KNOW about the climate change in certain areas of the world for certain periods of time. And for every city like New York where the temp has increased, there is a city like Syracuse that has had a decrease.

I'm not suggesting that human's aren't responsible for climate change, I'd only like to see/hear/read the debate from 2 sides that figure they might be able to learn something from eachother rather than 2 sides who think loudest is rightest.
