One of the tough wetsuit questions is always "Should I get a full or a sleeveless?"
I found a great solution from ProMotion - their "tri-sleeves" top that turns a sleeveless into a full.

The Tri Sleeves look like a jacket, with a thin
(1mm
) chest and "normal"
(2mm
) sleeves. They fit right under any sleeveless wetsuit.
I purchased their "Fluid Drive Sleeveless" and the Tri Sleeves for $239
(way cheaper than any other full
), and have been very happy with this combination.
The best thing about this combo, of course, is that I can go full or sleeveless, depending on temp.
For the Black Diamond half IM near Seattle, I was very comfortable in 60-degree water.
For the Great Floridian full IM in Florida, I was very comfortable in 77-degree water.
I'm a slow swimmer
(1:30 for IM distance
), but this wetsuit seems very well made.
And fast - in a pool, I do a mile in ~55 minutes.
With the wetsuit, my three 1.2 mile splits have been: 43, 42, and 47 minutes.
Happy swimming,
