Subject: RE: Swimming Program Lingo Question mwillder - 2006-12-22 12:04 PM
I'm in my second week of the 20-week HIM program. I'm sure there's a simple answer to this, but what does the following mean?
"Main: 10x100. Descend 1-5 and 5-10
CD: 200 continous. 50 kick, 50 swim"
Does that mean my 1st and 5th 100s are my fastest, and that each susequent set is at a lower RPE?
When it says "kick"--does that mean I'm just focusing on that, or that I shouldn't use my hands?
Thanks for your help!
So for your set 10X100. you'll be swimming an interval of 100yds or meters 10 times. each interval should get faster from 1-5. so if interval 1 is @2min, #2 could be 1:55, #3@1:50, etc. then at #5 you can get slow it back down, and then get faster #6-10.
CD=cool down, so your basically just trying to get your hear rate down, and get some lactic acid out of ya. kick probably means kick with a kickboard. CD should be as slow and relaxing as possible paying attn to form and technique. |
