Subject: PTC Triathlon Athlete Booklet for Aug 28th's Race
I just found this link to the Athlete's Booklet for all those participating in the Peachtree City Triathlon this weekend. It gives a lot of good information. Also, I biked and ran the course earlier this week and it will be somewhat flatter than the High Falls course we ran last Saturday.

http://www.tri-ptc.com/phpws/files/documents/Tri-PTC_Athlete_Bookle...

The lake looks a lot clearer than the lake we swam in at High Falls. The course is L shaped. The bike is an out and back loop, the hills are mostly contained in the first and last 2 miles. The run is on golf cart paths through some neighborhoods. It is very hilly in the first 2 miles (not steep hills, just a lot of up and downslope running). The nice part about the run is that it is almost completely shaded from the sun and should be quite cool.

See you there.

Thanks Karl:

How long is it going to take to get down to PTC from say the 1-75/1-285 interchange?

I clocked it at 61 miles from Windward Parkway and 400. That's probably 15 miles to 285. I'd give it at least 45 minutes.

Thanks for the link Karl. Seeing the participants list gets me all anxious and hyped about the race. Except I'm starting almost next to last in the swim. Some of you will be half way done with the bike before I even get in the water.

Aims. It takes me 1 hr to get from Kennesaw to PTC so I think 45 min is about right from 285/75. I've found that it's about 10 min quicker on 285 than 75 to get to 85s.

Hi Amy,

I'm #503, and I'm also in a light blue swim cap.

Now how do we figure out who you are, other than you'll be wearing a blue cap. I'm fairly easy to find. I'm usually the tallest one in a crowd. Don't you have an album on the site. I'll have to find some way of recognizing you.

I'm #366 in a Gold cap. I got real nervous when I found I was in the first Swim heat. I had a bad swim last week and don't want a repeat. Watching the Olymipics has motivated (that's my name, don't wear it out) me to really knock out the swim.

I plan on getting to the park early, probably around 6 so I can get set up and go for a warm-up ride. The participant parking is across from the T1 area in a church lot. T1 is situated fairly close to the lake, you'll have about a 150 yard run from the lakeshore to the T1 area when exiting the swim.

Since the transition slots are assigned, it should be easy for us to find one another.

See you there.
