IM Lake Placid 2008 - Registration Question

Registration opens the following day, for both "in person" and "online" applications.  Last year the line started at the horse show grounds around 9 AM.  I think they open the online registrations around 10 AM, but first preference is given to those who show up in person.  So if the online registrations get too hectic, they will close the site down to insure that all those standing in line at LP get into the 2008 race.  I do not believe that you can sign up another individual in person.  If your friend needs to do an online sign-up, I would caution him/her to be ready with fingers on keyboard and credit card in hand, and to be persistant because the large amount of people doing the same often causes delays in the web site.  The event will be full within a few hours, as each year it seems to fill more quickly.  Two years ago it was possible to sign up online until around 4 or 5 PM, last year it closed around 1 PM.

But don't wait 2 days...you'll miss out for sure!
