Swim

  • 500 yards
  • 02m 45s / 100 yards
Comments:

Had a good swim for my slow swimming self. I was able to get a good clean start and only got tied up with other swimmers at the turn bouy. I was able to navigate a good strait line and was able to keep my head in the water instead of looking up constanly to see were I was.
What would you do differently?:

Not much, it was a well swam leg, I just have to get quicker.
Transition 1
  • 02m 34s
Comments:

Had trouble with my socks and wet feet. but everything else was relatively smooth
What would you do differently?:

think about going sockless
Bike
  • 39m 10s
  • 12.4 miles
  • 19.00 mile/hr
Comments:

The course was relatively flat with only rolling hills. At the start of the race the biker in front of me fell trying to mount his bike, which created a little hold-up. I passed numerous bikers throughout the course and was overtaken by only 2, maybe three other bikers.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. It was a good ride. again just work on increasing my speed.
Transition 2
  • 01m 46s
Comments:

it sure didn't feel like a 1:46 transition. I thought I did better than that, oh well.
What would you do differently?:

consider yanks or lock laces.
Run
  • 29m 47s
  • 3.2 miles
  • 09m 19s  min/mile
Comments:

I ran alng with another guy for about half the distance. Talking with him made the time go by quickly. I also kept a gel pack in my hand and nursed on it for most of the run. I found I actualy enjoyed the taste for once. I need to get to a 9:00 mile pace through the entire run
What would you do differently?:

go quicker
Post race
Event comments:

The race was very well organized. It was a wonderful race, The race director sent everyone an e-mail and said they are renaming the event the "PTC-Tri, the best sprint race ever" it is a well deserved name. I'm looking forward to doing this one again next year.

great times for all 3 legs.  Even T1 isn't that bad.  Try socks at T2, easier than after the swim.  Great speedy race!

Tom,

Fine job on the race. I'm glad we were all there to see your strong finish on the run. You looked like a pro! Great times, by the way. I have to say its very cool to have the BT Friends at these races. I'm particularly amazed that Tony gave up his Saturday morning to come out and support all of us. That was very cool. It was also good to meet Aims.

Well, train hard...we both have our first Oly at Tugaloo in less than 2 weeks!

See you there!

I say the same. I'm starting to look forward to the comradery of these events as much or more than the events themselves. It is also very cool that everyone I've met from BT and others at the reaces has been such wonderful quality individuals.
