Finished my first sprint at Miami U this weekend (400m,20k,5k) and managed 120th of 400. (swim 9:56-214th, bike 38:56-39th, run 26:27-222nd)....you see where my background is....obviously i am hooked and now i have to get some swimming and running speed...i feel confident that the run will improve soon...but the swim is going to be more of a challenge...maybe some coaching is in my future...

The race was really fun and well put-on....hpf did a great job and there were tons of volunteers. It was fun to go back to Miami as Alumni too....amazing how things change in 4 years.

Anyway, the winner was somehow doing 30second transitions....while I was doing 2min transitions....im going to have to search out some threads around here to figure out how to shave a 1:30 each time...that seems like free time that im giving up!!

Thanks for everyones encouragement around here....not necessarily personally, but in general this board is a huge motivator!

the next one on the calendar is in June, so ive got about a month to get ready to break those benchmark times.

One great thing about the first race is that you can go in without too many expectations and preconceptions.  Now you have a baseline for future goals too.

Well done! Congratulations!
