Wazzup? Where are all the new triathletes from Hawaii? This is were it all began! I started training in November and still like it (see training log). I am doing the Kailua tri (sprint) March 21 and the Honolulu tri in April 18. Is anybody training for the Honolulu tri? (Olympic distance and Olympic qualification tri). I will keep you informed about my results. Bert ;-)

hey Bert,

while I would dearly love to train and race in Hawaii, it's kind of a haul from Cape Cod

good luck with your training and keep us posted.

Training in Hawaii sounds like a better new goal.

I'll bring a tent and just camp on your lawn.

Ellen,
Why would you want to leave those excellent -15 degree temps to go to hot, sticky Hawaii. :-)

uhhhmmmm......for the same reason you would? LOL This is one of those freak storms where the Cape gets more snow than the rest of the state and the wind off the ocean is brutal.

Welcome Bert! My ultimate goal (maybe within 5 years or never :-) ) is to qualify for Kona! My family said I could if I take them with me for a week! I'm a long ways from that though.

Thank you all. Yes it is a privilege to train here in Hawaii. I am origially from the Netherlands with lower temperatures and more wind than you describe. So I know! If I had a big place, people could get over and join a race here. Living in Hawaii is very expensive though and races start at 6am! I enjoy the site and keep training! Bert
