After a few sessions with my gym's master's swim team, I realized that the harder i swim, the more jacked my streamline gets. As a result, by the end of the practice I'm both sloppy and exhausted.
This was magnified when I did an OWS last weekend.
I've been going in this week and just working purely on balance--chest down, side roll etc and doing no distance at all. Anyone done any local TI clinics or had any luck?
I've heard that they can correct your form is as ittle as 10 min.
Anyone?
You are in luck my friend. Loretta, the aquatics director at PLC Olathe, will be doing TI drills for our warm-up next week Tuesday nite at Masters. This will likely continue if we want her to. I have the book, but it's on loan right now. As soon as I get it back, I'll let you borrow it.
When I first started three months ago, I just worked on floating my back for minutes at a time. Got comfortable and move to floating on my chest. Then worked on swimming "pressing my bouy", essentially pushing my chest down into the water so my legs came up. I only use my legs to keep balance, not as propulsion. |
