hi from western CT, anyone else from the area? if so what are your favorite bike/run/swim routes? also what local races do you plan to do this summer?

Thanks!

Hi and welcome.

I'm from Connecticut, but from the midshore (Clinton).  I'm doing mostly bike racing, but will be doing at least a few tris this year.  I'll be at Mystic Valley sprint for sure in a couple of weeks, will do at least one or two of the Terramuggus tris, and plan to do Bridgeport Olympic distance.  Depending on what happens in my bike racing season, I may decide to train for the HIM in Madison, but probably not.

If you haven't seen it yet, check out the www.ctbikeroutes.org site for potential bike routes in your area.  Also, check out the Sound Cyclists club.  If you are in their catchment area, it may be worth joining. They put on a number of organized rides each year, but also offer a good number of weekly group rides.  I think they also have a list of route maps on their site.

Nice!  I did the 7.6 mile Polar Bear run at Waramaug in March.  It was the first time I'd been up there. What a beautiful venue for a race!
