Anyone in Michigan BT land a member of F.A.S.T. and/or doing the OWS/bike/picnic this Saturday?  I'm trying out my new wetsuit though I won't be able to stick around for the picnic.  http://www.swimfasttrifast.com/index.html

just curious.

I've swam against folks from FAST in Masters swim meets.  They ARE fast.  Aren't they located in the Bloomfield Hills area?  If so, that area is FAMOUS for strong swimmers (great HS feeder system).

So I guess what I'm saying is, you should get great coaching.   PLUS if they are organized enough to regularly attend Masters meets that tells me that they are, well, organized.  Aren't I Mr. Sherlock?

I think you should go!

I've been contemplating joining up. Please post up your impressions.

I have been super busy and haven't been able to make it out to one of their group rides or swims yet.

They have a 1.5 mile open water swim competition in August. I've been thinking about giving that a try.

I am a memeber!  They are a great group of folks.  I am mainly a road bike racer, but do a few dus (and maybe [finally] a tri this year) in their colors. I also do the Saturday master swimming at Schoolcraft College during the fall/winter/early spring. They are mainly in the Dearborn/Northville area, you will see members on Hines Drive from time to time.

Join up, for $15.00 you can not go wrong.

I did plan to go to the swim on Saturday, had everything out to throw into the car on Saturday morning. But I did one of those, the alarm goes off, I get up turn the alarm off, and went back to bed, for another three hours... I guess I really needed the sleep way more then I thought.

They ARE fast.

Oh, and most of the members are mortals that you can beat from time to time , at least I can on the bike, but then they pass me on the last 1.5 miles on the run when I am walking with cramped legs ... But they do say 'hi' Cool .

Totally enjoyed the FAST OWS... there were over 30 swimmers in the lake... it was awesome.  Will be back for another in july (when my weekends clear up).
