Subject: RE: Anyone swim at Cub Run? bigislandfj - 2007-06-07 8:42 AM It sounds interesting. When they do the OWS, how does it work? Is it just swimming some distance at a lake, do they do drills, is it a simulation of a race? Please do ask. I lived in South Riding for a year so I am mildly familiar with Loudoun County. Is the water cold this time of year? Keep in mind, that not only do I live in Hawaii, the places I swim are heated by lava. Thanks I haven't been yet, but my impression is that it is mostly a bunch of people swimming at their own pace. You can probably do whatever you want. I will be bringing up the rear in all likehilood. It is in a reservoir in Ashburn. The guy who runs the swim, Steve, said that he requires people to wear wetsuits, not because of water temp., but for safety. If you don't have one, he makes you swim with some sort of flotation device attached. I would guess that the water would probably be in the mid to low 70s, as the volcanos in Ashburn have lied dormant for millions of years. Are you in Hawaii now? What time is it out there? Shouldn't you be in bed? |
