Subject: Camelbacks
I did my first Olympic Tri today and I was the only person using a camelback. I am pretty new at this stuff, and not that up to date on equipment (using an old 1992 2120 Treck). What is the disadvantage of using a camelback (aero?).....I like the convience of not having to reach down and get bottles out of the cage.

if you want to use it and feel comfortable doing so, just do it.  I'd say the biggest reason people don't use them on the bike is because of the time it takes to put it on, and how hot they make your back.  It's just easier to throw the helmet on, grab the bike and run.  There probably is some aero disadvantage as well (although a camel back under a tight jersey can increase your aero).  It's also really hard to refill, and you are limited to one type of drink.
