Are a lot of you doing the Cicero Tri? This was my first tri and I loved it, I have already signed up, it's very short 350/9.5/3.1, just wondering hard to believe it's been a year of this crazy live style.

I rode and ran the course yesterday.  Should be a good race.  The ride is pretty flat with one little climb leading into a turn.

What's the water look like at Red Bridge park? Are we going to get stuck in the mud?

150 yard dash, 50 yard wade, 150 yard dash.

Naw, it's going to be real shallow, but the swim will be there. We normally swim on the south side of the lake, and on Sunday the water was down about 2-3 feet below normal. Some areas of the swim for tomorrow are normally about 5-7 feet deep, so potentially, there could be some sections just a couple feet deep.

Taken from the Indystar.com regarding the low water level at Cicero:

The low water is expected to affect Saturday's Cicero Triathlon, the 24th one that Hamilton North Chamber of Commerce has sponsored to raise funds for scholarships. Jane Hunter, chamber executive director, said participants "will have to swalk" -- a combination of swimming and walking -- through the shallow water from the Waterfront Restaurant west to Red Bridge Park instead of swimming the 0.2 mile stretch.
Triathlon organizers considered canceling the swim portion of the swimming, biking and running race, she said. They did that in 2004,when high levels of algae were found in the reservoir, but this year decided that athleticism and the thought of winning the race meant more to those participating.
"They're going to swim no matter what," she said.

Congrats to everyone who went out for the event this morning.

I don't know where the "swalking" took place, I did a lot more swimming than not.
it was, to say the least, a pleasant surprise.

The swim was fine. I did notice thought that it looked like there were some swimmers that were standing up at about half way across. But, the water was great! I was still very slow though!

I did this race as well. I have a boat on Morse, and live just off of it, and I run/bike and that area all the time.
The swim was not really that different due to water levels. I doubt people were standing in the middle, that is still somewhat deep.

The transition area was a cluster. No assignments based on # and too few spaces caused some issues. I am always early, so I had an end spot and no issues, but I stood there most of the time. I saw stuff getting moved a lot.

I would do the race again, but I expect what it is . . . more of a casual newbie race. I like it main because of the location. I have train in the area and have grown up around it most of my life. I will always support local races.

I liked the Morse Park Tri even better - I rode to it.
