Subject: Good places to swim in Indy?

Hi!  I normally swim at the Natatorium (on IUPUI's campus), but they will be closed until August 11th.  Can anyone recommend a good temporary place in the city to swim?  I was thinking of checking out Broadripple park or something, but I worry that it will be filled with kids and have little to no room for lap swimming.

 Thanks!

What part of town are you in? In Noblesville, Forest Park Pool has a couple of full time 50M designated lanes. Open water swims in Morse Lake are quite nice. Several of the local high schools have lap pools open to the public on the north side, specifically, Carmel, Noblesville and Hamilton SE. Check the schools local to your part of town.

And obviously, check out the Y.

Thanks!  I didn't know if I could get a temp pass at the Y.  I'm actually right downtown (3 miles away from IUPUI campus).  I'll look into the options you mentioned.

Thanks again!

Fishers High School (north on 37 to 131st St, make a right. follow past promise rd) has a 50 meter pool that you can use for 3.50 a pop.  Usually the only other people swimming are the swim team.  I've never had to share a lane.

Yeah, Fishers high school open swim is hard to beat for $3.50. It is as nice as a high school pool should ever be.

has more info.

If you are near Noblesville or can get there, NASTI is the way to go. That is the local masters swim team (I am on it). You CANNOT find a cheaper option than that. Swimfit at the Y's is hugely more expensive.
