Work up early ate some eggs and PB&J english muffin, drank some water, and took in a gel before the swim start.
Event warmup:

Little biking was to tired to do much more then that I needed to save my energy
Swim
  • 07m 41s
  • 500 yards
  • 01m 32s / 100 yards
Comments:

The swim was good I was really nervous about this because I really look at swimming as my weak point since I have never swam before this year really. I did well ended up passing the leader in the lane and was very close to my seed time
What would you do differently?:

Train more on speed work in the pool
Transition 1
  • 01m 30s
Comments:

I took to long here
What would you do differently?:

move my butt
Bike
  • 43m 53s
  • 13.7 miles
  • 18.73 mile/hr
Comments:

So biking today for me was my really weak link. I am ok on the bike but not with crazy winds coming from every angle type of stufff. For the first time I felt what a strong crss-wind felt like yeah omg thought I was going to get thrown off the road and the head wind the last 4 miles was just crazy there was no break seeing as it was nothing but corn fields every where. Yeah the bike killed my legs cause I was trying to maintain a good MPH which def did not happen lol
What would you do differently?:

dodge the wind
Transition 2
  • 01m
Comments:

did well here got my feet out of my shoes on the last downhill so just powered up the last hill and rolled into transition
Run
  • 21m 9s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 06m 49s  min/mile
Comments:

was a fun run course my legs took about half a mile to get into flow from the bike, was a tough run though. There were a fair amount of long tough hills and the trail running was very narrow almost impossible to pass someone at certain points.
What would you do differently?:

move a little quicker
Post race
Warm down:

crossed the finish line and laid down

What limited your ability to perform faster:

the wind by far

Nice race..... weak link being swim at 1:32 per 100???? yeah, must be nice to have weak links like that. Bike was just preparation for Kona, right? were you in one of the earlier groups or later ones?

Nice race!

Really great times.  Transitions get faster with practice, experience and focus.  I was BOP on these for my first few tris, but made some improvement for may last tri in Chicago.
