Comments: My knee felt really strong which was the biggest victory of all. I wasn't too concerned with my time but really just wanted to see if I could it! I was super stoked that I had no pain the day of the race or the days after. It was great despite the near freezing temps! What would you do differently?: Not tear my ACL three times over the last 2.5 years!!!!!!! Post race
Event comments: Really fun for a great cause. Can't wait to do it again next year. Last updated: 2007-11-30 12:00 AM

I have just been introduced to the triathlon world after coming off three knee surgeries in the last 2.5 years! I love the mental and physical challenge of the triathlon and can't wait to compete in my first one in Feb. I live in Southern California and my sister and I were in for Thanksgiving and thought it would be fun to do. She lives in Florida so it was a cold weather running experience we won't forget.
I have been slowly building up to actual running for the past month or so. I did a 5k about a 5 days before the event. I have been in the gym building up my legs 3-4 days a week.
