  • Comments: This race was very organized. The race doubled in size in the week prior to the race due to the cancellation of the NYC marathon and you would have never known that they weren't planning for that many people. I was a little disappointed not to get one of the nice shirts but I guess they made a decision based on sizing. It appeared that they had a nice variety of food afterward. I only had a some fruit, a bag of chips, and most of a donut, but they had all sorts of stuff - subs, bagels, bananas, someone said there was chicken broth, etc. The host hotel (Crowne Plaza) was reasonable and convenient. The late check-out (3pm) was nice! I don't think I'll run this one again because the course wasn't my favorite, but they were definitely organized.

  • Comments: Great organization and post race setup (food was excellent). Organizers went above and beyond to accomodate the NYC marathoners.

  • Comments: I would suggest this race to anyone. It was very well done. It's a small race. It's inexpensive. Parking is right at the race. THere is a building to sit in before and after race. Swag was good. Shirt is nice. Course is nice (by the river for a good portion of it). I really enjoyed this race.

  • Comments: This marathon has really evolved over the years to a first class event. Lots of helpful, friendly volunteers. People all over the place cheering you on. Great swag bag and a really nice windbreaker!!!!!!! I do most of my running (and some biking) on segments of this course, so it's like a home court advantage for me. It's nice to see well over 1,000 people participating in this race.

  • Comments: The course used Cytomax products, I have never used them but I figured how different can they be? I brought some gel's that I attached to my race belt and I used one of my normal 24 oz bottles to run with filed with a 50% solution of Gatorade and water with 1 scoop of perpetum. That combination worked well for me. Unfortunately late in the race, around mile 20 I was out of my fuel and had to switch to theirs. The first thing was the Cytomax orange gel. OMG this was the most disgusting crap I have ever tried to eat. I gagged as soon as I tasted it. So much for that idea. So I started drinking the Cytomax drink. I'm not sure what the flavor was but if I had to guess I'd say grapefruit? Not near as bad as the gel, I used it for the remainder of the race. I don't know if I didn't drink enough or if it doesn't have the calories but within about 15 minutes I started feeling my energy fading. At around mile 22 or so I was full on bonking. I will pay much closer attention to the stuff available

  • Comments: Very well run race for its size. Aid stations every 2 = 2.5 miles. Not much in community support. Most of the people cheering were in the park. Volunteers were great and very supportive out on the course. I made sure to thank them all!
