  • Comments: The only race in this series I have done is the Chicago Triathon. I believe the Chicago Triathlon is a much more racer and spectator friendly. It was fun to compete downtown, but all of the logistics involved are not worth it. It kills your whole weekend. I also think they could have had wetsuit strippers and the timing chip straps should be neoprene. Luckily I had my own, but those other things cut into your ankle. I know many people complained about it. It was fun, but I'm not sure I will be back next year.

  • Comments: i have been on cloud 9 since yesterday. i never believed that i could place in this race..... i ran it two years ago and got beat to hell......meanwhile, last year i signed up and paid for the race and we had our beautiful baby girl come in to the world two weeks before the race so i no showed it. i was just excited to be back and doing this thign again. i never checked the race results. it just so happened that i was walkign through the festival and i was carrying my one year old baby girl and the announcer calls my name for first place. i got to hold my little girl as i walked to pick up the trophy. the announcer asked me her name and we were on the jumbotron for a few seconds. i looked out and saw my training partner and screamed like a fool, which almost made my daughter cry and then the announcer made a funny comment about some "drugs" i might have been taking and it was one of the best moments of my life...... i cant believe i placed in the Toyota US open triathlon..... i

  • Comments: First I want to thank Blane, Fitty, and Shane. Thanks guys! Blane and Fitz really helped out a ton on Saturday and Sunday getting me ready. You guys rock. Great tips and great support. Great to have you guys and the family there to cheer me on. Thanks also to the usual crew, Todds, Bobby for the swim last week. What a great time.

  • Comments: The race was pretty cool, I liked the point to point format. But I am ambivalent about returning next year given the pre-race mess and the horrible road conditions.

  • Comments: I loved the race. I will do it next year. Hope Dallas works on the roads more though. Coach Kristen has been a great help to me on the swim even though it really didn't show. I saw so many Texas Triple Threat people during the race it was great.

  • Comments: Overall good race, good schwag... Great to see the pros! I will do this one again... Hopefully Dallas fixes the stupid roads... It would be sad to lose the a world class competition because of road conditions!

  • Comments: I love this race! Having the closed bike course with two lanes is fantastic. The run course is fast and I loved the Katy trail. Having all the pros there is cool and the finish line venue is fantastic. I think this is my favorite race that I've ever done.

  • Comments: I can't say enough about this race. The number of volunteers was staggering. They were very helpful and around every corner and intersection on the bike course. A very well run race that I would like to do again next year if my schedule allows.

  • Comments: I admit being a little skeptical of how this was going to come together. But the logistical issues of point-to-point were mostly handled well. Police and volunteer support were outstanding. The time-trial swim start wasn't too bad, the bike was decently challenging, and the run in downtown and around Reunion was enjoyable. Having the pros there was cool I guess, though I honestly didn't pay much attention to them, except for when they were passing very nearby, headed the other way on the run. The special VIP section irked me a little, just on principle. The venue was one of the better ones, especially post-race, with athletes lounging on the hill, listening to the band and chatting. The entry fees were pretty pricy. That might keep me away next year, although I have no regrets about having it done it this first time. All-in-all, a good event

  • Comments: Logistics went far smoother than I expected. Incredible number of volunteers and traffic controllers on the bike course. Fantastic post- race activities. It was also interesting to have so many pros present, but I really never saw them.

  • Comments: Great, great, great race! I wanted to do 2:32+transitions. That's exactly what I did. I swam at my goal pace, biked at my goal pace and ran faster than my goal pace. Tack on transitions and voila! Last race of the year, can't wait to start offseason and get ready for a great 2008!!! I was one of the race's biggest skeptics. I didn't think they could pull it off. I was way, way wrong. It was an AMAZING race. So well run, well put together. Amazing volunteer support, very well put together.

  • Comments: The only issue with this race was the road surface quality and the Dallas drivers who made it a bit scary by not listening to the cops. Toyota did a great job of traffic control at EVERY SINGLE INTERSECTION including volunteers at parking lot driveways to keep cars from cutting across us. Even with all that, I saw some pretty sad bike accidents, and had a flat myself which I blame on the road b/c my tire blew out fast.

  • Comments: One negative comment . . . there was no bike support on the course. I didn't need it, but it didn't leave me with a very good feeling knowing I was on my own out there if anything should happen. Also, there were apparently several bad crashes on the bike course. I've heard of at least two that involved cars. That rather surprises me, given the amount of police and volunteers on the road. Still, it seems most everyone had a pretty good time.
