  • Comments: I love this race. The swim is easy and the bike is challenging. I love the flat run with no hills which enables you to go fast. I would do this race again and would recommend it to anyone that is new to triathlon. You have to register early as it sells out quickly!

  • Comments: Overall I'm very happy! I wanted to beat 2:40 and thought I might be able to make 2:30, so coming in at 2:32:41 was great, especially since I took my time in transitions and made a pit stop. I know I can improve at this!

  • Comments: I like the San Diego series triathlons because they are well organized and relatively cheap compared to the other races. This is only my second olympic distance race and this went way better then the other one. My goals for the race were 1)- just finish (did that); 2)- complete the run without having to walk (did that); 3)- finish strong (was able to pick up the pace at the end)

  • Comments: Koz puts on a great race at an affordable price. Based on this, after completing the Spring Sprint and San Diego International, we've decide to complete the San Diego series with Solana Beach, Imperial and Mission Bay triathlons.

  • Comments: Overall I'm very pleased. I went about 9 minutes faster than my expected time. Maybe there is something to this taper thing.

  • Comments: My total time for the race was 2:30:23 according to the results; no split times available yet but I'm pretty sure that (minus transitions in there somewhere) I was Swim: ~30 min, Bike: ~60 min, Run ~60 min. At the next race I want to get my swim 100m time down (averaged ~3min for 100m on this race) to ~2min, keep the bike about the same (of course, faster is always better but I'm somewhat ok with my time), and cut the run down by (ideally) a minute or so per mile minimum if possible. My next race isn't until September 30th in San Dimas - distances for that are: 1.5k Swim, 40k bike, 10k run.

  • Comments: Except for that one volunteer that directed me in the wrong direction it was a well organized race and a very fun race to do. Will do it again for years to come. So much fun I can hardly describe it. I was riding amongst accomplished triathletes and the adrenaline rush that I got when I saw Michelie Jones cool down and cheer for me with her coach was amazing. It made me run faster. I was in the VIP section and the pros were right next to me. It was so cool to see what they do before the race. I'm definitely addicted to tris now. My goal is to finish top 100 in 3 years. Top 200 by next year with more training. People were very friendly. Had this guy let me use his pump for my tires. Another guy that was next to me in transition was very cool. Also talked to this 16 year old girl from Tijuana who was with her brother I believe. She finished 10 minutes in front of me. Wow! This race made me want to train harder for next year. 326 out of 1000 is not bad considering this is my 3rd tri

  • Comments: Not sure I will do this race again. It is a challenging bike course, but the run is sort of lame (not a closed course). I was 13th in my AG last year, and moved up to 10th this year. I am the Senior Citizen now in the 45-49 AG (I will be 50 in August). I am looking forward to "aging up"!!

  • Comments: I was disappointed in the beer garden. If you are going to advertise a beer garden you should really have more than a keg of Michelobe Ultra. Also, it is very hard to find parking around the transition area, we got lucky at the check-in but my friend had to walk a ways to get the car while I was getting my bike and gear from transition. Otherwise it was a good challenging race! I'll probably do it again next year...
