  • Comments: I liked the race course except for the seawead and algea in the lake. It was great to have a weekend in Steamboat with our neighbors.

  • Comments: This was a good race and a great venue. The only issue I have is the water, My allergies are in full effect. My head is completely clogged up and my eyes won't stop itching. There was a considerable amount of algea to deal with. I was originally going to bail on the race but I'm glad I did it. I know I can do better than this but life is in caos right now so it is what it is!

  • Comments: The folks at 5430 Sports know how to put on a great race, and Steamboat is no exception. The smaller roster gives this event a more laid back feel than the Boulder races. The expo may not be as big, and there may be fewer sponsors, but the athletes are at least as happy with this race as they are with the longer running events.

  • Comments: The water for this event left a little to be desired for many, but I think it was really more of a mental issue than anything else. They could have had more boaters in the water, and that may have helped some of the folks who DNF'd to continue. By the time the awards ceremony started, the air temp was really comfortable. A later start time next year would probably be very helpful. This is a beautful site and an awesome course. I will probably do this one again next year.

  • Comments: I had a freaking blast. It was my first Tri, so that made it even better. My training partner got 2nd in our age group, so that was exciting. And my other training partner had an amazing swim, finishing it 26th overall. We were all ecstatic.
