  • Comments: We really had a nice time hanging out around East Tawas and overall enjoyed the day and other things going on. Were all ready signed up for next year and this will be my A+ race with an eye on a PR. I just wish Kenny of 3D was more understanding about my questioning the run course mileage. He basically told me my Garmin was off by .76 miles, so after confirming the long run course Sunday morning with two Garmins and my truck, I guess I have to take my truck in to the dealer and get the odo calibrated and see what I can do about my bad Garmins ;-)

  • Comments: Great race. I will most likely be back next year. The course was good. The swim was great the water is so clean. Much different than other places I have raced this year. (ie Ohio River) Bike course is outstanding. The run course was nice but I hope it was not over the 13.1 miles. Overall the race is well oganized and one of the best locations for a race for both the racer and the spectators. Thank you downtown East Tawas business for letting us invade your city. You all did a great job.

  • Comments: Terrific race even in the remnants of a hurricane. The entire course is awesome and our crew is already planning on making this a yearly event. Much cheaper than Steelhead, and closer for many people. If you want to do a Half-Iron you cannot go wrong with this one. And its only going to grow and get better. If it weren't for the rain there was a fun beach party planned that night that would have capped the day off nicely. Highly recommend this race to anyone, especially for Half-Iron athletes as I think they really had the best course of the 3 different lengths.

  • Comments: Wow. My two main goals for this race were to have a solid mental race, and break 6 hours. I crushed them both. I couldn't be happier. Luckily, Jason called from the banquet to tell me that I took 3rd and I should come over to get my award. I must have read the finish sheets wrong, because I thought I was further down. Thanks again Jason.
