  • Comments: HFP always does a great job in my opinion. Although I had a decent bike and run, the swim killed it for me. But, i'm gonna get right back in next week at the Delaware Lake tri. That's the only way to do it. I know what I need to work on and next week will be a better race.

  • Comments: I had a great race. I was really low in self confidence after my June race, so i needed this to get me back on the horse. I had hoped to race one more time this year, but scheduling is not lookin good based on family stuff... so, this was as good of a race as any to end my first season. Last year at this time I announced my goal to complete a triathlon in 07, and I've done 3. So I'm pretty pleased.

  • Comments: Just one note. I came in last in my age group but the guys in my age group must have lots of experience as the fellow who finished before me in my age group was 70th overall. I felt like the level of competition was reasonabley high. I have got to learn to swim faster.

  • Comments: Seemed pretty organized, but needed more aid stations. More volunteers as well. They came and asked my wife to help for goodness sake.

  • Comments: There were no bike marshalls, although the Fairfield county Sheriffs were AWESOME. I saw a bit of drafting going on as well. Also no bike aid stations for the INT bikers. Would have liked a bottle drop. Transition/finish area had no water fountains or really anywhere to fill water bottles up...not good. Also, the website directions took you nowhere near where you wanted to be, and we got lost (as did several others). Would have thought there would have been more aid stations on the run, considering the heat. If it was a cooler day, what they had would have been fine, but on a 95 degree day, spreading them out over the 10k would have helped.

  • Comments: I like HFP a bunch. They're organized, on-time, cheerful, and most important, CHEAP! The only problem with this race is that the snooty Buckeye lake residents didn't come out and volunteer. They had lots of cops, but almost no volunteers -- they didn't do bodymarking for want of volunteers, and the bodymarking is my favorite part! So, snooty Buckeye lakeside vacation residence owners, you suck.

  • Comments: Boy, was it hot. The swim seemed like it was uphill all the way... how does that work? Still, I fell stronger with every race and love seeing the same faces each time. Bob's mojo worked -- I left with hardware -- with a blue ribbon.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: I defintely have improved overall as my swim and run times have come down since the last race 2 weeks ago. This race I did feel much better on the swim because I was able to relax a little more and get into a 3-stroke instead of 2. The bike was very difficult for me and I think I need to get a triple crankset on my bike to replace the double. The run was especially hard after that bike, but I was still able to shave a couple minutes off my time. As I lose more weight I will ramp up my running a little more and hopefully make the run portion a little easier.
