  • Comments: This was my first Boston and it was very memorable for the hot conditions. It definitely lived up to expectations. The crowd support was amazing. Given the hot conditions and the course, I am very satisfied with my effort. I faded slightly over the 2nd half, but finished just slightly over my pr and qualifying time. Very happy with my race - I will be back again to try again in cooler (hopefully!) conditions.

  • Comments: My first Boston, hopefully not my last. This event truly lives up to the lore. The people of Boston treat the runners like royalty before and after the race. They are awesome spectators.

  • Comments: Boston Marathon Race Report: This was my first time running the Boston Marathon and I have to admit that it was an amazing experience. I qualified for Boston in May of 2011 at the Orange County Marathon in Southern California. Boston was unlike any other marathon I have experienced. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and was very fortunate that two of my good triathlete friends (Kelly & Shaun) live in Hartford, CT. I had a fantastic few days spending time with them. Kelly was able to get me a seat on the Hartford Track Club Boston Bus and Shaun was the “bus mom” for the day. It was an early start to the day for race with a late start (10:00AM). Shaun and I were on the Boston bus from Hartford, CT before 6:00AM. The bus was a great way to travel to the race. The traffic, parking, and people were crazy. The bus took us to the drop off area where the races hung out, hydrated, and used the port-a-potties (there were lots of these). The race start is split into 3 waves.

  • Comments: I have never seen crowd support like this it was just amazing. I did enjoy the history, people, course, and atomosphere of Boston. Even though it was probably the roughest day I have ever had running it will be a memory I will never forget and feel so blessed to have been there. I think this is a course you can run a great time on if the conditions are right.

  • Comments: My first Boston is done! It was one of the hottest on record, but I still had a blast. The crowds were amazing, and the volunteers were fantastic. The aid stations were well stocked and I was able to keep relatively cool. I'd love to run Boston again, but I'd love to do it when the conditions are just a bit cooler!

  • Comments: Great race - very very well organized I had a great time running with everyone and it definitely helped me a ton. Tracy – thanks for organizing and keeping me focused on the run J – awesome run, I can’t believe you just started running, I can’t decide if I’m inspired or deflated - I'm going with inspired. Lee Anne (New Orleans spelling) – I know how bad it must have sucked with stomach issues and how bad you must have wanted to quit, so I think your finish might be the most impressive. Thea – You seriously never looked in pain or in anything but control. You may have a little Kenyan in your blood somewhere. Your run was awesome My mind thinks in terms of short bullets and jumps all over the place, but these are some of my thoughts from yesterday: Big Fat lady holding the “Visualize my body and Run” sign I can’t believe how nice all of the people out there cheering are Love you long time Holy Shit, turning onto Boylston Street is unbelievable Throwing up after the race

  • Comments: Absolutely the best. I still haven't stayed in the city, opting to stay near the start, in Milford. I probably miss out on a bit of the fanfare and vibe surrounding the event, but I just figure I want to save my energy for the run. I take an 8:15 shuttle to Hopkinton and it only takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the high school. For the first time, I was able to wait out the race start in a hosted house about a block away from the start. I still haven't had to spend much, if any, time in the Athlete's Village.

  • Comments: It's Boston...what else is there to say. There's so much information available online and in print about the race and the course, that there's no excuse not to go in well informed and prepared. In the end, if you have a chance to race Boston, you do it. At least that's my two cents.

  • Comments: Ok so course was very challenging, the fans were amazing running with the big boys was a dream come true. But a tent or a heater at the beginning of the race and something to eat at the end other than 1 baegel and a gator aid would have been nice. I know they had 26k people, but they really skimped on some basic necessities. The local kids run has better post race food and activities. It is a famous race, I am glad I went, they skimped on some really important things. I wish I knew I would have no shelter for 4 hours prerace and that the temp would be 30 degrees colder than the forcast was when I packed. How not to do Boston, now I know. A rematch is definately in order. At least I passed 700+ people who didn't pass me back at the end. Fond memories, could have been a really perfect day with a tent for prerace. But now I know.

  • Comments: We came here and I was certain that it would be my first and last Boston. I am so honored to have run the Boston marathon but in the back of my mind now, I really want to go back and crush the last 3 miles of that race!!! I should have booked my room before we left!!! :)

  • Comments: As they say; it's BOSTON, and it doesn't get any better/bigger. The race is very organized for its size, the people were friendly, and we had a great time. I'm glad I changed my mind and ran it when I had the chance.

  • Comments: Overall, a pretty sweet experience. I couldn't help but think that Houston is almost as good of a race. The crowd support at Houston equals that of Boston, but the Boston course is legendary and quite scenic as well. I think I'm going to have to do this one again if the opportunity presents itself!

  • Comments: what can i say... its the boston marathon... this was the race i've always dreamt of running... and until recent a race i never thought i'd see the starting line of... more less make an effort at going sub-3... the atmosphere the entire weekend was unbelieveable... the support from friends leading up to the race was amazing and appreciated... the support of friends and family out at the race made it all the more special... and without a doubt i left everything i had out there on the miles between hopkinton and boston... so therefore i'm very proud of what i accomplished... and very happy with my time... also, i'm incredibly thankful to all of my wonderful friends and family... for all of their tremendous support, love and encouragement... be it whispering in my ear... or yelling in my face... there are a lot of ups and downs in training and preparing for a race like this... and its certainly not something i could have done on my own... THANK YOU...!!! so now the obvious
