  • Comments: As they say; it's BOSTON, and it doesn't get any better/bigger. The race is very organized for its size, the people were friendly, and we had a great time. I'm glad I changed my mind and ran it when I had the chance.

  • Comments: Overall, a pretty sweet experience. I couldn't help but think that Houston is almost as good of a race. The crowd support at Houston equals that of Boston, but the Boston course is legendary and quite scenic as well. I think I'm going to have to do this one again if the opportunity presents itself!

  • Comments: what can i say... its the boston marathon... this was the race i've always dreamt of running... and until recent a race i never thought i'd see the starting line of... more less make an effort at going sub-3... the atmosphere the entire weekend was unbelieveable... the support from friends leading up to the race was amazing and appreciated... the support of friends and family out at the race made it all the more special... and without a doubt i left everything i had out there on the miles between hopkinton and boston... so therefore i'm very proud of what i accomplished... and very happy with my time... also, i'm incredibly thankful to all of my wonderful friends and family... for all of their tremendous support, love and encouragement... be it whispering in my ear... or yelling in my face... there are a lot of ups and downs in training and preparing for a race like this... and its certainly not something i could have done on my own... THANK YOU...!!! so now the obvious

  • Comments: The Boston Athletic Association has this race organized to a T. It is amazing how well...from the school buses shipping runners to Hopkinton, to all of the volunteers, and the finish line. I am very impressed with the quality of this race. I can't wait for next year!

  • Comments: I qualified, then had hip issues for the past 2 months or so. Ive accepted that this may put me out for the season, and I am totally ok with that! I went to Boston to run MY race, have fun, enjoy time with my friends and their families, and I succeeded with all of those goals!! Met a new friend and fellow BTer on the course (bonus). I feel so very fortunate that I have the ability to at least make it this far, and that I was able to be a part of this event...that is so very different in many ways from any race I have ever done!!! Just WOW!!! Thanks to all of my Donkey friends that helped me with qualifying and making it to Boston...love ya!

  • Comments: After I got back to the hotel I showered – that took a while since I was not motivated to move and again moved very slowly – then finally met up with Ben for the first time all weekend - how could we be in Boston and not meet up once?? Tracy had made dinner reservations at Legal Seafood. I didn’t think I would be able to stomach much but I was wrong. “Real” food tasted so good!!! Had a great time..Pam came and it was just the perfect way to end the day. What else can I say??? Yes I am unhappy with my results but it is the Boston Marathon. It is an honor to even be able to run the race. I did requalify but I doubt I will do another Boston - I see it aa a one time experience - one that you never forget. The first few words out of my mouth to Bjorn as I was getting wheeled off to the med tent were "I am never doing another marathon". By the end of the night that changed to "maybe" never...by the next night.."I am going to do another marathon". (I am sure he was thrilled to

  • Comments: This is Boston, you feel it from the expo to the finish. The 114 years of history, the old New England environment and the crazy college students, fans, friends, and family along the way make this one stand out. I am still shocked to be in the race, and thanks my many wonderful friends and family for getting me there. I had the chance to meet so many interesting people... current service men and women, ex-marines, mothers, fathers, cancer survivors, White house senior aides (17 miles with Condoleezza Rice's senior White House aide who also does Ryan Halls "Steps" Foundation (check it out), and lots of other inspiring athletes of all ages and backgrounds. I look forward to coming back next year with differnt goals and look forward to the challenge. Thank you Boston and BAA for a great day.

  • Comments: My opinion may be colored by the good weather and/or the good result I achieved, but this was one of the best races I have ever done. Just a complete blast from start to finish. Well-organized, especially considering the number of runners. It is worth doing at least once if you have the opportunity.

  • Comments: It was great to be part of such a great tradition. All the volunteers were fantastic. The cheering crowds were overwhelming. The Wellesly girl I kissed, whoever you are, was exquisite. What more could a guy ask for?

  • Comments: It's Boston! What more can be said??? Got a BQ out of it, wasn't looking for it going in, but I had a good first half, running pretty easy, and just felt like I could hang on. I knew I was slowing down after Newton, but I felt good enough (despite calf cramps) to hold on for the finish. Was really just looking for something near a 3:20, heck a sub-3:30 would've been nice, but thrilled with the performance 4/19.

  • Comments: The Boston Marathon is the best race I have ever done. This was the 114th running and they're still tinkering with it to provide an excellent experience. The crowd support is amazing. Wellesley was a bit subdued this year (as compared to last year), but all along the course, there are spectators cheering you on. Once you make the turn at the Firehouse, the crowd is continuous for the last 8 miles. It's pretty amazing! It gets out of hand down on Beacon Street in Brookline and for the last couple of miles to the finish. There are times when the crowd's cheers become roars.
