  • Comments: The race was fun but overall organization was horrible. WAY too many people for my liking, which i knew going into it, but was still annoying. Not enough port o johns or TP (running out 90 minutes before the race is just silly). No one monitoring who was going into what corral to start the race, so a bunch of walkers were at the start and about got trampled by 30K participants trying to RUN. Might just be the size of the event, but it wasn't to my liking. I'll stick to smaller races or trail runs from now on.

  • Comments: Not sign up for FULL marathon. Poor course, limited support on course after 13 miles; almost no support at end.

  • Comments: Fun race. All the bands on the course oddly provided motivation. I didn't expect that. Apparently the race organizers told the train operators not to run during these hours, and the train operators fully acknowledged it was their mistake. So you can't fault the race for that. Really a good fun race with great organization. Too bad it's just so far away from where I live.

  • Comments: Standard Rock and Roll event here in SAT. Nice quantity of bands on the crse and good post race food. Nice to get finished early and have a blue box with paper still in itm unlike last year!

  • Comments: Again the course is long. 26.5 on my watch 27 on a friends watch. Difficult to hit a goal when you have to run an extra .3 or more. Not enough re stocking of the porta johns at the start or finish. Not a good thing when nature calls and there is no paper. Not satisfactory!

  • Post race activities? Bad
  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: Race was entirely too large of a field (33,000+), too small of an expo area, too small of a start area, too small of a finish area, too few shuttles to take runners from parking to/from start/finish area, course was entirely too many sharp turns, water breaks were inappropriately stationed right before or after turns causing hazardous footing, some water stations actually had put ICE in the drinks (that made not only drinking dangerous, but all that ice dumped out on the road made footing treacherous), road surface outside of city was horribly rough, etc. etc. This is a for-profit group that puts on these Rock and Roll series races, and they showed their greed on this one. Will NEVER do it again, and would advise everyone to steer clear, as there are MUCH better organized marathons out there (Houston, anyone?).

  • Comments: This was an inaugural race and honestly after this experience I am not sure I'd do another inaugural race in the future. The race itself was decent, there was adequate drinks when I went through all the stations, but the "preferred parking" option was a DISASTER. We've done quite a few of these elite races and left more time than usual for the bus and we still missed the start by at least half an hour, and there were many people in line behind us, who I am sure were very very late to start. I'd give the race a couple of years to work out the kinks and issues before I'd do it again.

  • Comments: This was the inaugural race and there were a few hiccups. The shuttle at the start was a mess and the finish line was too crowded. Other than that, it was a typical Rock n Roll race. I really liked this course and would run it again.

  • Comments: The race itself and the course were great. The pre and post race organization were weak. The lines were terrible. I don't think everyone made it to the start in time b/c they required we park off site and shuttle to the start line. Because of this, the lines to get to parking and then to the shuttles were crazy. I got to the start about an hour later than planned. Same goes for the finish..it took me about 3 hours of waiting in lines to get to my car after the race. Ouch. I would definitely do this race again if they work out some of the pre/post race logistics, Or I would just get a cab.

  • Comments: I was really excited about this run. San Antonio is a great venue. The expo was average but the location was great. The PreRace mexican food probably wasn't the best but there are a lot of carbs in tortillas, right? The course was a bit dull, one loop around the hood, then along the "Mission Trail" I only saw one other Mission which was great, but the trail wasn't what I had expected. There was a stretch going out and back, about 2.5 miles each way along the San Antonio River, nice tranquil, but no volunteers, no shade, poor pavement. This seemed to go on forever on the way back in. Not a bad course, but not particularly memorable. The city is a great place to go and visit, though, must go to Cafe Alamo for the fresh baked tortillas right in front of you. The race organization was good. The web site is lacking - no elevation chart, no 2007 press releases,- but adequate. The expo was average, decent amount of vendors, but not the most well laid out. The course was average, but
