  • Comments: The race was in typical hot, humid Florida weather for that time of year, but it changed over the next two days. The next day would have been perfect, temp lower, cloudy and no rain until at or near race end. Two days later would have been awful, too cold and very heavy wind and rain all day. Overall the race was set up very well and I would do it again.

  • Comments: I was so excited in the beginning... and then I had my issue with the swim where I thought I might drown. Then the bike started to feel really really long, like it would never end. By the time I got to the run, it was just a matter of survival. Finally, I got to the finish line!!!

  • Comments: Next year hopefully I'll be able to race the entire race. I've got at least one more HIM planned this season, maybe 2. Learned some things about myself during this race regarding nutrition that will prove to be beneficial, so some good came of this race. Also, I suppose that I could've packed it in after the bike and taken a DNF but that was not an option, especially my first HIM.

  • Comments: The volunteers were outstanding. I thanked them at every turn. The folks at the aid stations were great. The first aid station on the run put their grapes on ice. I told them that whoever thought of that was a genius and got a high five from the lady. So when the 3rd aid station ask how the other stations were, I told them that they were the friendliest, but the 1st aid station had the frozen grapes. Awesome, awesome group of people. Our bus back to the parking lot was basically all volunteers and I basically made an annoucement thanking all of them as I got off. I don't know what other comments to make. An outstanding experience that teaches you a lot about yourself. I wouldn't have changed a thing. You deal with the situation at hand and keep moving forward. The support of my wife and kids is outstanding. I am so lucky to have them encouraging me in this crazy sport. The folks on this site, especially the experienced ones, most of whom I never corresponded with, are

  • Comments: The swim was long and there is no reason for it to be. I think the bike was long and again, with as many out and backs as they have, no reason to be and the run course just sucks donkey balls. Not sure I will ever do this race again if they don't change the run course. However I would like to come back and prove I can do it. I really liked the bike course. The little hills made it more of a challange.

  • Comments: Wonderful volunteers! Plenty of aid stations...so much so that I think I gained weight during this race :) I also rather like the run, if I could run. I have alot of joint pain, and the amount of running on a grassy trail would help. If I come again, it will have to be with my family, though. Being at Disney without the kids just made me really homesick. I did not like that you had to pay $1/minute for a massage (they are usually free, but I noticed alot of "extra" fees for things in the area that you don't usually have to pay for) and that the buses were so late to transport us to the transition area. This was a race I seriously considered DNFing on purpose. When my back went out the Tuesday before I thought maybe I'd swim. Then I thought since I paid to ship my bike down, I at least wanted to get on it...and the bike was actually the toughest. My orthopedic surgeon had already given me the news about my big toe joint (could need an artificial joint if I tear it up any

  • Comments: Great race overall. Do not let the run course description discourage you. Remote transportation is an annnoyance.

  • Comments: This is my third tri but only my second recent tri. I thought it was good. There was much complaining about the transition close time and the run course, but overall, I thought it was great. If I had to pick between this and gulf coast, I would probably try gulf coast, just because I've never done it before.

  • Comments: I would rank the race higher if not for the run course. And as to the drink stations, there were probably enough but one more on the bike course would have been nice too.

  • Comments: Run course sucked and Post Race was a long line for pizza and soda. Big deal. I didn't stick around too much longer after I finished.
