  • Comments: Post race was a little weak - no water when I crossed the line (near the end, but still). Food was pretty pathetic. On Friday I was concerned that they didn't know what they were doing, but by Sunday morning everything was well marked.

  • Comments: Race announcements were spotty because the wireless mikes they were using kept malfunctioning. The swim course was very narrow for the size of waves that were being run. Swag sucked. Post-race food (by the time the Oly racers got there) was pretty bad (someone said the oranges looked like they'd been pre-chewed), except for the strawberry shortcake cups. I expected better food, especially since it was billed as BBQ and they were charging $5 for spectators to get food.

  • Comments: I thought the race was great. Such and awesome location with great views of the mountains. The bike section had some great country roads that I would love to ride on some practice runs. I can't say enough about this race but most all......Wait Till Next Year....

  • Comments: The volunteer group that had committed to help for this race backed out the week before the race. They were headed down to Louisiana to help with the relief efforts there. While I commend that cause it still left the race organizers in a tough spot. They put out the call for volunteers and ended up hiring some workers from the local Labor Ready to man some course locations. I think because of this they ended up cancelling the Saturday packet pickup and transition setup. This made race morning busy, and the races ended up about a half hour late. Things ran fine otherwise.

  • Comments: This is a great course and it was a great day for a race. The sun came out and conditions were very nice. I couldn't have ended this triathlon season on a better note, with a pint glass trophy for second place in my age division, a feeling of being healthy and accomplishing my goals. Can't wait til next year...Olympic here I come!
