  • Comments: This might be one of my favorite courses. The crowd support was fantastic and the spectators were so fun (offering up king cake, beer, beads and even mini martinis). There was a lot of shade and the course was interesting.

  • Comments: Very little crowd support and only 3-4 bands that I can recall. But the volunteers were great, the expo was organized and easy to navigate, and overall it was a very well run event.

  • Comments: The course was awesome - nice and flat. Although, sometimes the up and downhills can give your legs a much needed break. I can't believe I just said I wished for some hills lol The costumes were very entertaining, the course scenery was awesome. This was a great way to get a tour of New Orleans! The volunteers were good and very upbeat. Fabulous race actually! Even if it was a hell of a long ways!

  • Comments: The Competitor Group has their act together! They are former competitors and have everything perfect so the runners can focus on runnung. Hudration stops were perfect! No complaints!

  • Comments: I don't know if I hit "the wall" or not.... I just know that if you are going to run for 4+ hours you need to take some water and or calories in at some point...... This was my biggest race to participate in... I thought it was well run, with TONS of police to protect us from crackheads! I have learned a lot and will do better next time. All those people passing me up ? Who cares? I would never see them again anyway.... Next time I will stick to the plan! One last thing, my Garmin had it at 26.5......

  • Comments: I enjoyed the route. I've done the half several times. I decided in December that I wanted to do the whole marathon. I am so glad I did it. It's my tenth marathon in ten states. Forty more to go to join the 50 States Club!!! I liked seeing other people on the out and back routes. Great support from BEAR and Dylan!!! My thighs are a little sore today, nothing major. Poor Dylan is suffering-his calves are killing him and he had basketball practice for a long time tonight. I hope he feels better soon. {Laurie, I worked backwards today. I came home and cleaned after the race. I was full of energy. :):):) We missed you all this year. Didn't see any BTers, but Dylan finished a few minutes after Lane.}

  • Comments: What an experience! I loved it!! There were so many cool things to see in New Orleans, and what better way than by running past them? :-) There were so many encouraging spectators on the course that it took my mind away from the pain in my legs. All in all, it was a great first marathon!
