  • Comments: Over-ripe bananas, coconut water and pizza are horrible post-race nutrition for a race this long. We needed a sport drink, fruit and nutrition bars. Not happy with that.

  • Comments: Jack runs a very organized race. You can always count on that. I don't know about the post race activities. Everything was soaking wet and I just wanted to go back to my room and sleep. I wish the conditions were better.

  • Comments: This time around with the bad swim start it just wasn't a positive experience. Won't be difficult to break this distance PR if I decide to do another Olympic.

  • Comments: I don't think I'll be doing an Ironhead race again. Jack's angry tone is too much at 5:30am for me. His personality just rubs me the wrong way.

  • Comments: very good location! very nice to walk out of the hotel and be in transition! lots of spectator spots. Definitely doing this race next year, but the sprint..

  • Comments: Too long on the pre-race meeting! Beware, the run is super hilly and tough. Great race overall!

  • Comments: Waco was a great setting for a Triathlon. It had a good swim course and a fantastic bike and run course. I can easily see this becoming a much larger event.

  • Comments: Great Race. The area was outstanding. I would do this race again easily. Only issue was the water. They started packing up so fast that I needed more water.

  • Comments: Lots of volunteers and a well directed race. Pre-race mtng was way too long and the awards were a bit delayed by the arrival of the official results. Overall a good race though and I'm glad I did it.

  • Comments: Solid race. The Volunteers were really really good. All of the water was super cold, and they were great at being prepared. Major kudos to the volunteers. The course was done really well, marked well, fairly clean (especially the river), and the Waco folks did great. Ironhead does a good race production, but seriously, the pre-race meeting/diatribe by Jack was OVER the top. I've done one other of his races, and it was no where this ridiculous of a pre-race meeting. Took a while for Run-Far to get the results and so the awards ceremony started late. They should probably pick a shaded area for that. HOWEVER, this was a first time event in something like nearly 20 years, and you wouldn't know it was a first time event. This is a do again race, hopefully with a correctly distanced swim!
