  • Comments: Feel I made a good call in choosing this to be my first tri. The only goal I had was to finish which I did. Next time I will be more competitive.

  • Comments: This was my first race, so I don't have anything to compare it to. Seems like I stood in line a lot, but it wasn't horrible. Fee was rather expensive. But it's great to support a home town organization (Friends of the Waterfront). I thought it was a great first "big race" experience with nice atmosphere. Many have said it would be great to incorporate more of the city in the bike and run, but I'm sure that would just add exponentially to the cost, complexity, and shortage of volunteers. Overall a great time, a good performance, and I plan to come back and make some noise (in the 40+ group!) next year.

  • Comments: Not a bad race for beginners because it's not "hilly" just one big gradual uphill. Swim is straight and short and so is the run. Overall I would probably do again just to work on hill climb!

  • Comments: I put events not on time though technically they started on time, there were lots of people not parked yet (who had been waiting in line to park for well over 1/2 hr) as the events began. Lots of people traded driving with their spouse and, while waiting in line to park, grabbed their gear and went to transition. Everything well well organized except traffic & parking. Typical Pittsburgh!

  • Comments: I finished the race feeling very good about it. It was nice having the family there. I improved my time by 25 minutes from the last race.

  • Comments: This has been a great race. I didn't expect any less since it's been highlighted by Triathlete magazine as one of the best city races. It sure was.

  • Comments: I think the volunteers were great... but they could have used more markings on the routes and distance markings.... post-race was disappointing...def should take tips from the Great Race folks as a starter....but, i'm looking forward to next year....

  • Comments: Not enough time between starting stages did not allow for all swimmers to reach start area before bell sounded. Unable to hear swim instruction.
